Intestinal resectioning
I had open intestinal resectioning surgery in Aug, 2011. Healing from the surgery went well. However, since then I have had some problems with digestion. I've had bouts of vomiting, what feels like a blockage of foods passing through. I don't have a BM everyday, I drink about 4 16 oz bottles of water daily, so water intake should not be the problem. I have kept myself on a low fat, low sugar, low carb diet off and on for the last 2.5 years. In those 2.5 years I've lost 35 lbs. I don't want this surgery (8 months ago) to stop me from dieting and keeping my weight down. I lost 10 lbs during my surgery because of complications and being on a liquid diet for 9 days. I was in the hospital 11 days. By the grace of God there was no cancer, the surgery was necessary due to a detected colon polyp that was not removeable due to adhesions from previous surgeries. My question is, are there people out there drastically modifing their diets due to this surgery and what are you eating. High fiber? - Bland diet? - soft foods? (weight gainer) I would think that after 8 months I could go back to eating what I was eating before the surgery. When I am not on my diet, nuts and nut meats seem to block my digestive tract. Help
