| Does a CT scan show colon polyps ?
Does anyone know if colon polyps show up on a CT scan ? I had a scan done last week due to a pain near the bottom of my right ribs. I got the scan results yesterday. As far as the colon, it stated that the intraabdominal loops of large and small bowel appear normal. It then mentioned that there were numerous small diverticula present in the sigmoid colon. It didn't mention polyps. I won't have a chance to see my doctor about this for two weeks. Should I schedule a colonoscopy now to look for polyps or should I rely on the CT scan since it didn't mention polyps ?
