24 year old female, blood and mucus in stool, worried.....

hi guys, i'm new here
I went to a doctor for rectal examination a week ago and she stuck a finger up my butt looking for piles but she found nothing. Soon after that I got referred for a colonoscopy based on my symptoms. The scary part is, all these crazy stuffs happened in the past month, which I know strongly suggest colon cancer. It doesnt look good I'm so scared.... What is wrong with me??? Anyone been experiencing all these things???

Lists of symptoms:
Rectal bleeding and sticky clear mucus (stool covered in bright red blood)
Black spots and dark red stuff in stool
blood and mucus discharge from anus during urination (just 1 time, small amount, sorry i know its gross)
Mild abdominal crampings all the way to rectum/ constant weird bruised feeling in lower abdominal area)
Mild rectal fullness and pressure and pain
Swollen painless lymph nodes both sides of groin ( cancer spread??!!)
some weight loss

No constipation ( but sometimes I can't seem to empy my bowel at 1 time)
Diarrhea 2 times in a month
Normal stool ( don't need straining)
No history of bowel problem
No family history of colorectal cancer

It's true, colon cancer is a possibility, which is why I'm glad you're being sent for the colonoscopy, which will find out for sure one way or the other.

However, at your age, other explanations are more likely. It could be inflammatory bowel disease, an infection, or some sort of ulcer. If you take a lot of Advil or similar medicines, ulcer seems most plausible.

When is the colonoscopy?

HI americangirl
im not a doctor, but as of wht i know colon cancer occurs mostly in people over 50, other reasons janewhite1 suggests could be true , but blood in the urine is definitely not a good thing so better not neglect tht aspect, good luck and appriciate if u could keep posting the results of whts happening with the tests , take care

Re: 24 year old female, blood and mucus in stool, worried.....

i'm getting the colonoscopy tomorrow.
that's exactly what my doctor said. colon cancer at my age is unlikely; however, it's possible. my biggest fear is that i'll wake up form the sedation tomorrow and get told I have cancer after the colonoscopy......
anyways, i'm glad to share my experience after i find out what's wrong with me
at this point, i just wanna get it over with!!! can't take the stress anymore

well american girl - good luck for yr tests and hope it would come out negative for any kinda cancers, and u wake up being told u had a heat boil on yr back side which caused all the trouble. however i hope not but if u r detected with something the positive part is tht u would know it right in the initial stages which is defenitely curable, so dont loose hope and good luck
