I read online somewhere that the doc usually takes a few biopsies, (since he's already in the colon anyway), to check for any problems that can't be seen with the scope.
You didn't say what your doc plans to do about your bowel symptoms and weight loss.
Also, what is the doc's take on your throat inflammation? A medication like Prilosec may ease the inflammation, but won't determine the cause of the problem. In my humble opinion, if a person can resolve the problem without ANY meds, that is the best way to go.
