| | Incomplete Bowel Movement - repair with mesh
I have read a number of members messages about this but I still have some questions.
When I have a bowel movement not all the Faeces clear from the rectum causing very smelly gas which is not controllable, my stomach bloats and it causes me to feel very unwell.
I have tried a lot of things including huge amounts of water and taking extra fibre but it still continued.
I saw a specialist yesterday (18th Oct 2012) who after examination told me that after having a difficult birth with my first son (15th January 1984) where they had to use the Ventouse Suction not all the tears were sewn up so I have had a flap of skin over 28 years gradually causing more and more problems that has caused a pocket which is why my bowel has not been clearing completely and I have had to physically try to clear it etc.
After discussion with the specialist he gave me choices of having medical intervention with suppositories and other things for the rest of my life of have surgery to sew mesh ove the flap of skin to correct this problem.
He discussed the options at length so that I understood everything. He was very caring and open with me telling me that if I was 83 and not 53 he would not be giving me this option. He also told me as he has to, about the complications which have worried me.
Is there anybody out there who has undergone this type of operation??????
It is a big decision to make!!!
