So I have had 3 colonoscopys. I asked the doctor about the usually recommended 4 years between exams. I said basically so that means that this is a slow growing disease? He said "usually". That was not the answer I was expecting. My father died of colon cancer and I want to avoid that. I later talked to a nurse who said that the insurance companies will pay for the procedure YEARLY if you ask for it. So I am going with every 2 years. I suggest versed not propofol as being totally awake for the gas afterwards was painful. I had a polyp the first one (maybe 6 years ago) none the last time, and then 2 years later, lately, had another one.
