Unhappy AGH! Annal Fissures

Hello! I need help. All of this pain and agony started June this year. Burning on BM, uncomfortable and sore.I put this down to IBS, but went to see the doctor who thought it was Hemorrhoids.Doc Referred me back to hospital, which took until September(Quite long to wait on NHS in UK). The Specialist banded the Hemorrhoid, and said i had an Anal Fissure. I was give Rectogesic to treat the Fissure. It was awful!! Bad headaches, heart palpitations, Dizziness, nausea. Doc told me to discontinue use, and use Zyloproct, good diet, which i do, as i have IBS, laxative and lots of water. Laxative was too harsh for my IBS tummy! Although the Fissure seemed better. Then i came down really ill with a nasty water infection.3 lots of Antibiotics, still felt ill, weeing quite a bit and burn on urination.Lots of tests,Swabs, bloods. Nothing. Then bam!! The awful burning was back up my bottom, sharp pain and spasm, all day every day. I think the damn Fissure is back.Told the doctor and she didn't even look!! I am mad with these dos who don't listen, whilst i am in pain.I need to now go back to doc again(One who will hopefully listen!!!) Iam getting severe burning also inbetween my Vagina and bottom,it looks red. If i could drive off a bridge now i would!! I am depressed with the catalogue of things that are happening.Do i need to try and re-heal the Fissure? I have looked at natural methods on the internet, Coconut oil being one, i am desperate!!

Re: AGH! Annal Fissures

Start drinking a large glass of prune juice before bed and that will soften the stool and make it easier.

Im 25 and i had the same symptoms as you. I think it was the student single lifestyle/diet that was making it difficult to go to the bathroom. The weird thing is I had been living on my own since I was 18 but I only started getting fissures when I was 23.

The cream the doctor gave never worked for me.

The beginning of this year I started using an anal lube tube i bought online (easier and cleaner than using my finger) to insert a mix of olive oil and basil oil into my bottom before a bowel movement, after and right before bed. Basil oil has healing properties and is anti-bacterial. It also has a minty feel so its very soothing after a bowel movement.

You can also use coconut oil for insertion.

Try to include more fibre in your diet. More fruit and veg.

I no longer use the oil mix. I only take 1 1000mg tablet of vitamin c + 2 250mg of magnesium every evening after dinner and i have had no fissures for months

Hope that helps. I know its a nightmare!
