Teen bloody stool . Advice

So I'm a teen, 5'5, 100lb and I been having blood stools for a couple of months and stomach pains around when I get my period. I started getting bad cramps after about 2 years I got my period I would usually get bad cramps were I would throw up alot and get chills , my doctor gave me naproxen to take a day before and during my period after I finished all my pills I started taking ibuprofen. The blood in my stool would only be a little bit on the toliet paper but recently it's been a bit more and bright red
I know I should go to the doctors but I'm afraid to have a rectal exam or have a bunch of test done as this can be embrassing for a teen girl
is there anything I could do like home treatment and does this sound serious
any info is appreciated.

Re: Teen bloody stool . Advice

It sounds like hemorrhoids to me. The bright red blood usually means its coming from a close area, so we know its not your stomach because the red blood would have turned black by the time it came out. So bright red blood is usually coming from the anal area, and is mostly caused by things like hemorrhoids. Try some over the counter ointment, and/or suppositories that treat hemorrhoids first. If the bleeding continues even after using those for a couple weeks, definitely go get checked out by your doctor. Good luck to you!

It sounds like you could have endometriosis. In any case, a visit to the doctor would be a good idea because blood in stool is not normal.
