Impossible to poop

Iv been having this problem for a few years now. I'm a 17 year old male and in highschool. My diet is good, no junk food, all healthy foods and am on no medication. I never get the urge to poop and even if I do (rare) I don't feel
Empty. And whenever I do sit on the toilet it's like there's always a few little stools just inside. Every morning I wake up, try to poop, nothing. I will get in the shower and "check" lol and of course just inside there is fecal matter which is a challenge to even get a few rabbit drops out. I have upped my fiber and water intake. Nothing. Upped it more, nothing. I when to a digestive specialist and got a colonoscopy and he said everything was normal. I just don't know what to do at this point. Help please and thanks

Have you ever tried using a fiber supplement like citrucel or metamucil 3 times a day ?
I used a bowel retraining program last year to help me with my chronic constipation problem and it worked. I sit on the toilet every day for 30 minutes to move my bowels. for the first 3-4 days I had to glycerin suppository to get myself to go and get my bowels use to moving at the same time every day. It took me a week to establish a scheduled time for moving my bowels daily. I found that if I listen to relaxing music and do slow deep breathing exercises helps me to be able to move my bowels with no pain and I feel completely empty.
I eat a bowl of oatmeal with ground flax seed and either 6 stewed apricots or prunes every day for breakfast, a pear at lunch and two vegetables at dinner like spinach, acorn or butternut squash, sweet potatoes or yams, carrots (raw),tossed salads. I take Citrucel at least twice a day (breakfast and after work) Most people move their bowels about 30 minutes after eating a meal(usually breakfast or dinner) you might to try sitting on the toilet after breakfast for 30 minutes to see if you can go and set a schedule for going every day at the same time. sometimes drinking a hot beverage at breakfast also help to stimulate colon contractions. I hope this is helpful to you.

Thanks so much for you're advice. I'll give all that a try. This whole ordeal is just stressing me out and makes me all paranoid about a smell and if there's something really wrong with me.

The more stressed you're about this the more your abdominal muscles and rectal and anal sphincter muscles will tighten up and make it even harder to move your bowels. Also, the more stressed you're the more you will get a shy colon and make it hard for you to go out in public bathrooms or at friends,or families homes. I carry a small can of air freshener in my purse for public bathrooms. At home I light several matches before and after I move my bowels to reduce the odor I might leave behind or light a scented candle before you sit on the toilet to move your bowels. I leave a box of matches in the bathroom drawer or cabinet nearest the toilet so I can light them right away. Drink at least 64 oz. a day of water to help to keep your bowel movements soft and help to you to maintain regularity. Most of the time our constipation problems stem from our poor water intake and dietary fiber intake and poor bowel habits. Poor bowel habits means we don't want to take the time we need to move our bowels because we feel we're too busy to stop we're doing at that time when nature calls. I used to do that on regular basis when I was younger and that led to me having constipation problems all of my life in addition to the lack of water and fiber intake.

Re: Impossible to poop

You should try brown ground flaxseed. Eat 2 tablespoons of it and you should go in 24 hours. Remember to take 8-10 glasses of water that day, otherwise you will be more constipated, as this thing is full of fiber. Preferrably take it with 2 glasses of water, because the taste is not very good and not very bad, so by taking it with water, you won't feel the taste.
Anxiety unfortunately can stop your bowels moving. Since I started flaxseed I had bowel movements exactly the same time every day without much effort. Once anxiety attacked me, I had no urge to defecate, despite that the stools were semi-liquid.
I would say that you should start with a colon cleanse for once, by taking 50ml of milk of magnesia. Then you will have a bowel movement (often diarrhea) from 30 minutes to 6 hours. Take lot of water in the meantime. After that, you can get a probiotics yogurt everyday with 2 Tbsps of flaxseed in it.

Re: Impossible to poop

My stools get so far and then stop about 2-3" before they can make it out. I always have to digitally remove them. This has been going on for 3 years now. I have had a manometry test and a defagram to see if there was a rectocele but there is not. Peristalsis seems to be ineffective. Even when stools naturally drop to the "exit" door I still cannot push them out. Does anyone have a similar problem? I also have pain in my hip radiating to my toes which is worse when there are stools waiting to exit. When I massage hip and hamstrings and tensor facia latae muscles, it makes it easier to have a bowel movement (with help from gloved fingers), but still not on their own. I feel that I am the only one with this weird problem and I have been to many doctors but still no help nor answers.
