Bowel Movements in the Evening

I usually have 1 or 2 bowel movements per day, in the morning and/or evening, but I spend most of my time at home and when I go out (usually to spend the day in the city), I won't have a BM until I get home in the afternoon or evening. I'm not holding anything in, I don't feel any pain, I just don't need to go, and as far as I'm concerned, it's a good thing. I don't want to have to go in public and I don't have time to in the morning. I'll get up around 7:30 AM and it'll take me about an hour and a half to get ready. Can your body tell when your busy so it can temporarily stop your digestive system? (Like when your asleep?)

I don't have any bowel problems like IBS or any problematic symptoms (though I am sensitive to fiber and avoid large amounts for this reason), but I am obsessive-compulsive and (probably unnecessarily) anxious about my bowel habits, I'm also very image conscious. I usually take up to half an hour on the toilet because I'm obsessed with getting everything out, for this reason I don't want to have to go in the morning or during the day when I go out, but I've never had to. Is this normal?

Re: Bowel Movements in the Evening

Please let me know: is it necessary to have a bowel movement in the morning? I'll also mention that I usually get up fairly late when I'm just staying at home.

It's not that unusual for our bowels not move when we're busy during the day. If you are not having problems being able to move your bowels later in the day then don't worry about it. If you want to make sure you move your bowels before you go out for the day then get up and eat breakfast first with some dietary fat and drink a beverage with caffeine in it. Then brush your teeth or make your lunch, iron your clothes if needed, make your bed. Then go sit on the toilet for 20-30 minutes. Read or listen to music . The more relaxed you are the faster and easier it will be to move your bowels. I hope this will help you !
