Head Injury...?

Hello all,
I was just wondering if anyone on this site has been suffering from inner ear problems caused by a head injury. I haven't yet been diagnosed, but my doctors seem to think that this might have been caused froma blow to the head. It is possible, beacuse i have had a few head injuries, and they said that can really disturb the inner ear...and that It can be very hard to tell the difference, seeing how the symptoms seem to mimic eachother, but i would really like to hear any feedback that anybody may have. I've been suffering from this for a while, but havent really had anyone to talk to about it... or at least anyone that understands,,, but i really do understand what most of are going through! thanks!

Re: Head Injury...?

Hi Righteous,

Yes, head injuries can definitely cause dizzy problems. This from the internet:

Quote:
Head injuries are sustained by 5% of the population annually. Post-traumatic vertigo refers to dizziness that follows a neck or head injury -- while injuries to other parts of the body might in theory be associated with dizziness, in practice this is almost never the case.....after a head injury, otoconia may be displaced from the utricle and migrate into other parts of the ear, causing dizziness (also known as BPPV).
Better get yourself checked out by a neuro-oto or a good ENT who understands this stuff.

Cheers....Scott
