will a ct scan show 4 year old brain injury?

hello
i am wondering if anyone knows about this. If my brain injury was due to bruising and i am still having problems cognitively and perceptually will it show up on a ct scan or mri? I am wondering as if so then i will have one but if not i wont bother thank you

This would be mostly dependant on just what may have been left behind.If there was actual permanent damage to some of the actual tissue or espescially if there had actually been any sort of bleed,an MRI would show it in most cases.but if this was just bruising that the body eventually just absorbed,then it may not.like i said,it all depends.

the thing is,if you are actually having any sort of obvious deficits as far as your cognitive ability or any other neuro symptoms,an MRI would probably be a good idea.it could be something related to your old injury or even something new that no one was even aware of til you started showing symptoms.just where exactly in the brain was the bruising.what exact "perception" problems are you having?Marcia
