I was Jumped (Assaulted)

I was assaulted walking in my neighborhood last Sunday. The guy came from behind me at a full sprint and connected with the left of my chin... Swollen cheek/chin, I took an Xray, theres no fracture... But I'm feeling/hearing clicking/grinding in my right jawbone (by my ear), and I'm really concerned.

What is this? What else could I do? Thanks.

Re: I was Jumped (Assaulted)

I'm no expert, but I'm you can likely get TMJ symptoms from something like that. I would look into TMJ treatments and see what you can find there. Sorry, just thought I'd give my two cents since no one else has responded yet..

Re: I was Jumped (Assaulted)

Thanks.

I seen a doctor at an Oral Surgeons office today, and his diagnosis was the disk between the upper and lower jaw was knocked out of place (he put that wooden thing in my mouth and told me to extend jaw forward left and right, there was resulting pain and clicking)... So he put me on NSAID's for about 10 days, told me to stay away from foods that require a lot of chewing. If that isn't enough for the disk to slip back into place, he is going to fit me with a mouth piece and possibly shoot floods into the joint to try to as well.

Hopefully things will work out in the end.
