25 y/o brain damaged sibling with pooping issues
My sister was born with a brain injury. Shes been developmentally delayed her whole life. A few years ago she had her first episode with schizophrenia (now on meds). She has recently been having a problem with her bowels. My mom will come home to a clogged toilet, or her pooping her pants. And today my mom found feces on the floor. She also used my old bathroom (i dont live there anymore) versus the main bathroom, which is out of the ordinary.

Any ideas on why this is happening? Does it have to do with her brain injury? Schizophrenia? Something else? Irritable bowel? Loss of feeling to where she doesnt know if she has to go?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Whenever there is a "recent" change in behavior, I suspect medications. I have no idea if that is the case here because you state that she is "now" on meds. Keep in mind that it sometimes takes weeks if not months for some of these side effects to occur. IF she is currently on meds, you might want to do an extensive search of adverse side effects...unfortunately, they do not list all adverse effects on one site.
