| Re: Head injury and/or a whiplash and sleep
You may have PTSD. Do you have nightmares about the accident? I had an accident 7 months ago; sleep is hard to come by. Mine is due mostly to TMJ, I think, as well as waking up startled. I also wake up because of pain.
That is a bizarre, unacceptable thing to say to a patient. As well as being completely unhelpful. Even if that were the case-she or he should do something for you-as in referral, RX, something. Not just leave you feeling like this is your fault and you are somehow to blame. After reading some of the posts here, I realize we, as patients, really need to call out the doc. who is out of line. Just because one is in a position of power, does not make them right.
I see the date, and hope you have started to talk to someone. It's not "your personality." What you're experiencing is common. You have pain from the whiplash. You are probably re-experiencing this accident, too.
Best to you. I hope you got another doctor and that your sleep has resumed normally.
