Post Ecstacy Questions Help

First of all I know ecstacy is bad. I will never do it again. I started doing it about a year ago. I do it every other weekend or so. My problem is that I do to much when I do it. I am done with it and never want to touch it again. The thing is lately I have been getting headaches in the morning and at night. I have had alot of trouble waking up. I have heard that there is a vitamin that you can take to rebuild the seretonin in your brain. I know it had a 5 in it. Do you all know what it is called. I dont even know if the (X) is what caused these headaches, but I would like to try to take this vitamin. I heard it takes 2 months for the seretonin to build back up in your brain. Is this true.

The studies that i have read say that using x about 70 times can cause damage with the seretonin relay system. the drug that you are referring to is 5-htp which i believe to be, but am not quite sure, a synthetic form of seretonin as seriton's chemical abbreviation is 5-ht. i don't know what effect 5-htp it would have at this point. i also can't tell you if the headaches are related to the x but if you are having trouble falling asleep this may be related as seretonin makes melatonin- the main chemical responsible for regaluting sleep.

FYI- x is the ONLY illegal psychoactive drug proven to cause long term brain damage.

I got some of the 5-HTP. I am going to give it a try and see what it does. I think It might be something else. I talked to a few people. I have dipped for years. I also drink alot of caffine. Last week I quit both of them. I have been told that when you quit an addiction like this it will lower the seretonin levels. I hope this is it. The only time I really have the headaches is at night and in the morning. After I get up and take a shower they seem to go away. Any more help would be greatly appreciated.

Sharp headaches are a well-known side effect of caffeine withdrawal. I'm a pretty high-dosage coffee user, and I find that drinking loads of water helps the headaches.

To my knowledge, the effects of MDMA on serotonergic cells is not reversible. The drug kills the cells, and they are not replaced. However, in an unpublished study that I have heard about, the effects of ecstacy seem to correlate with the maximum single dose of the drug (i.e. if you take two pills in a night, the effect is worse than taking two pills a week apart).

As you now realise, ecstacy is bad, m'kay?

C.

apparently according to recent studies on x serotonin nerve terminals can recover over time. Yet, knowone knows quite how long or to what extent they ever do recover. Headaches are a withdrawel symptom and low serotonin levels can also contribute. Exercise may help to releive some of your symptoms and at least you'l feel better with all those endorphins. Even one dose of x can cause anxiety disorders etc and could generally increase your anxiety levels which could contribute to headaches. Also depression is a prity common side effect and often subsides after time. But depends on dosages etc. Some damage is stopped by taking prozac etc. but this needs to be done just after taking the x as far as I know. Make sure you are getting enough b vitamins - can contribute. Hope this helps.
