Why an I so dizzy?? - Brain & Nervous System Disorders Message Board

Hi all,
Im at my wits end.these are my symptoms..dizzyness, dble vision, ear buzzing, nausea. Its been happaning for about 2 years,Ive had 2 hearing & balance tests..(normal), Ive had 2 MRI"s..(normal)..My last :episode was sat. nite got dizzy & nauseous(no ear buzzing), ended up taking gravol & bonimine..which made me sooo sleepy
Im going to see the ENT on thursday. I dont know what is next to do??? What is left to rule out? Im sure he must think that its all in my head (pardon the pun)

I just wish they would find something so I can be treated!

Hello...sorry to hear you're feeling bad. Have you thought about anxiety, or panic attacks? Sometimes those kinds of problmes can manifest themselves very physically, and I think nausea and dizziness in particular are classic symptoms of panic attacks. You could do a bit of research and see whether it's worth following this up with your doctor - start by checking out the anxiety/stress board here!

Thanks for the suggestion bunty,,, That did cross my mind,..but I think I have ruled it out considering MOST of the spells happen when Im watching TV, or even lying down.
I take valium for depression,it has helped alot.
I just dont know what my next step is? This cant be normal...Do I ask for a referal to see a neurologist(sp)..head dr?
Or do I live my life spinning & falling down?
Its good thing I dont drive!...LOL

Hi Sonic...coming to the end of my very limited knowledge here I'm afraid. It's probably worth seeing your doctor and getting a full physical check-up, then asking for a referral to see a neurologist (don't know the spelling either). If you don't get anywhere with that, there's certainly no harm in seeing a psychiatrist and investigating the anxiety possibility.

By the way, I have an anxiety disorder and my symptoms can come on at any time, including when I'm watching TV!

You're kind of far north, but does anyone up there get Lyme disease? It originated in Lyme, CT. The first phase is flu-like but the second phase sounds like what you're going thru, plus tingling in fingers, and then you get into stiff joints later. Maybe far fetched, but if they've checked for everything else...? Think back two years ago...the only way (that we know of) that you can get Lyme disease is from a deer tick. Also, try cutting back on asprin & caffiene...laugh if you want, but MY ears aren't ringing any more!
