I would really appreciate any kind of response to this...I have been at a loss to explain whats been going on with me....I work in an office enviornment and am on the computer constantly....About a month and a half ago I went on a trip by airplane...I hate sitting in those seats for such a long time and having to keep my elbows bent for an extended period like that because they tend to get painful,irritated, and numb, which continues through my fingers...Anyway...on the way back from my trip I had to carry an EXTREMELY heave bag through the airport on my own...The strap was rather thin which made it feel even worse..I had to keep switching off the bag to each arm every once in awhile just to survive...I noticed on the way back on the plane that I was starting to get pains that were radiating through both my arms and through my fingers again...I just shrugged it off and went on with the flight as usual...A day later I noticed that where the bags had been on my shoulders there was actual bruising....After that I noticed once I got back to work that the pains were increasing....stabbing,shooting pains the entire length on my arms,shoulders,elbows and fingers...It almost felt like the pains were following a nerve path or something...The pains were mostly when I was typing but they were also increasingly bad when driving and surprisingly, when I was at rest...I went to my orthopedic dr after a straight week of this...He prescribed Prednisone...not to be taken lightly, I hear...To tell you the truth I really wasn't too happy with this dr...All he really said was that I had aggravated something, really nice...Started on the Prednisone and didn't help a bit...Pain continued for another 2-2 1/2 weeks and finally started to subside on their own, but not completely....The tingling and numbness and pain that goes through my fingers(pinky,ring,and thumb mostly)
still happens on and off just not that severe now...I guess I should also mention that I have had numb arms in the past that have lasted for awhile so this isin't necessarily the first time this has happened, although the first time to this severity...I did some research and came across some findings that may indicate carpal tunnel,ulnar nerve,cubital tunnel connection but I am really anxious to see what everyone else thinks before I decide to take this any further...I also suffer from anxiety and just started meds a few weeks ago because I would also suffer muscle jumping/twitching/numbness sometimes all over but since the paxil started they have subsided and I am thinking those were anxiety related but the arms? Not so sure....Any advice/thoughts would be appreciated....Thanks!!
