I've been experiencing some very exhausting symtoms for the past 3 months.
It all started with a feeling of dizziness and light-headedness. Shortly after I began feeling pressure behind my left eye and in through my temple. I was first diagnosed with an inner ear infection by my family doctor. She gave me amoxicillan which did absolutely nothing, then clarithromycin which just gave me an upset stomach. I haven't been back to her so I have no idea if the ear infection is still present.
I have also heard "sinusitis" can be the issue but I've been skeptical because I've had absolutely NO sinus symptoms. No congestion, cough, sore throat, nothing.
I've been to the eye doctor twice now since my left eye feels so uncomfortable. Not painful, just strange. Like pressure in and around...a feeling of uneveness if that makes sense? My eye doctor says everything looks healthy from what he can see, but sent me to a Neuro-Ophthalmologist for a more extensive exam. I went there yesterday and he too said all looks healthy and normal. He scheduled an MRI for me this coming Tuesday but said he believed the problem is sinus related and not neurological. I pray that
I have myself very worried that it's something more serious than sinuses...especially since the symptoms have lasted for such a long time. I'm just tired of feeling this way and want some answers. I'm anxiously awaiting and dreading the results of the MRI at the same time.
I'm generally a very healthy person and never worry about my health, but this one has got me down.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Please let me know!
Boxerlover: YOu posted a thread almost 2 yrs ago about dizziness, a dropping feeling like on a elevator. with TMJ. I get this like once a day and it scares the crap out of me...I feel like I fell or am falling lasts 2 secs. And leaves me with a holy crap felling...
I was just wondering if you ever found out if this was TMJ related? or something else and if you are still having it?
I dont know what to do...all my docs are terrible. They send me all over and I get no answers but it's anxiety. Half the times I get this I am not even having an anxiety attack. I may be walking, standing, watching tv whatever..
I also have very tired and dry eyes. Which I wondered if that was causing the dizziness caus emy eyes are not able to focus as fast or move as quick cause of the dry and tiredness. I had an MRI 7 months ago...Thankkfully nothing in there adnormal. But I am just scared to wits end. And I was relieved to here someone else had my symptoms...Please help me. I have headaches and my eyes feel like someone is pulling them back into my head. My jaw hurts alot too, and my ears and always full. I swallow all day to clear them....ugh!!!
Someone help!!! I am only 26 and I feel I am falling apart...

Have any of you guys ever considered Chiari Malformation 1? All of you sound like my dd of 12. Seriously! The symptoms come and go. Which makes it more confusing. And they do not add up to anything else, so you are sent around to all these Drs. who can not help you.
Lucky for us, our ped knew what he was looking at when he saw the MRI, although he had no answers for us. After alot of research, we visited a Chiari specialist who confirmed that all her symtoms that seemed strange, where in fact Chiari. We saw two well known Ped NS's in our area, who had heard of it but knew nothing about it, but pretended that they did.
If you go to the message boards, you will find that alot of people are told that their MRI's are fine, when actually the Chiari is right there, they just didn't see it or don't know enough about it. My suggestion would be to research and find a NS who is a Chiari Specialist. We had to travel 2 hrs to find ours. Let them look at your CAT, MRI's or whatever else you have and see what they think.
Never hurts to have someone else take a look. Could end the frustration and heartache. I know it did for us.
hi i had an operation for chiari 10 years ago, im 21 now and i get a really sharp pain goin up my right arm then down to my left side, it comes for about two seconds then goes again, then just repeats all day long, this has been happening now for about 3 or 4 years and lasts for a day, its comes every 6 to 12 months and i would rate the pain 10 out 10, it makes me catch my breath and cant talk while it is happening, normally it lasts for a day but this is my third day of it doing it, i think its trapped nerves, or so my doctor said yesterday it my neck pinching my nerves but she never reffered me to have a scan, im getting quite worried about it now bcoz it is severe pain and stops me in my tracks, i just need to know if i need another operation to open the base of my skull a bit more? please reply nicky
