It can take a week or two before the botox really starts to work well, but there may be some benefit felt before then. It usually works for about 3-4 months before repeat shots need to be given.

If the person has out-of-the-blue torticollis (i.e. it wasn't caused by a stroke, trauma, etc.), then botulinum toxins are the best treatment.
