| Re: Everything turns upside down
I know this is not just "in your head"....I am having same episodes and right now feel I am on my own trying to find out what is causing it--trying to find dr that has heard of it.....I have searched the internet and have found "room tilt illusion" is rare (upside down vision with illusion even moreso).....I found a partial article from a Neuro Othomologist, a group had done a study on this,....of a few people.....and they found a few had lesions on their brain stem, another vestibular dysfunction and some infarcts on brainstem....I googled for history of upside down vision and found a few other partial articles......another group of drs had 12 people altogether and they pretty much came up with same........it was interesting that most of these articles came from medical journals out of Europe......I have long history of vertigo/Meniere's (which is burning out and vertigo much better) and Ocular Migraine but this is very different....it hits me out of the blue, lasts mybe 15seconds, I am not dizzy/nauseous before or after, a little weak when over......I mainly want to find out if this is something I am gonna have to live with bcu I am not driving bcu of it.....when it happens, all I can see is the illusion.....my neurologist doesn't know who to send me to, my daughter's internists said she didn't have a clue BUT I did call a friend who has Meniere's/Vertigo and just asked her if she ever experienced anything like this...she said "no", but remembered when she was a young girl her mother would start screaming and say the room was upside down, the room was upside down and she was gonna fall into a black hole and it didn't last long......I am told by Radiologist if you have lesion on Brain Stem it doesn't always show on MRI nor Cat Scan...Right now I am thinking of going to Neuro Opthomologist in Atlanta. I am new on this board and hope I can get back to you if I find anything helpful......I am positive I am not having panic attacks.....keep up the good fight.
