scalp tingling & pain + headaches

I am trying to see if I should be worried about random episodes of tingling and pain on the very top of my head. It starts out like almost pins and needles feeling and progresses to sharp jabbing pains to numbness. I have also been getting regular headaches and having also problems with my vision, ears, and sinuses. My sinuses seem to always be tender even though I have not been sick for quite some time. I seem to always be tired and lacking of energy, but I do suffer from depression and am on medication for it.

Do you have any neck pain or any difficulty turning your neck to the left or right?

Has your doctor ever ordered a blood test to see if you are vitmain D deficient?

A vitamin D deficiency can cause a HOST of symptoms.
numbness and tingling in extremeties, painful numbing scalp, feels like little shards of glass are stuck in the follicles when you brush your hand over your head type of feeling. pain in joints and muslces and connective tissue, osteoporosis, teeth and gum problems, neck pain, not being able to climb up a set a stairs or anything like a small hill, etc.

I know, I've had it. it's horrible.
My pcp didn't know what was wrong for the longest time so referred me to a rheumatolgosit who dx'd me with having fibromyalgia and when that wasn't getting better, then he asked me if anyone ever ck'd my D level?
bam! he found out what it was.
after going on the "D3" supplements, the symptoms dissipated.
But you have to keep up with follow up's to retest your level. oh and dont' forget to have the calcium level tested at the same time.

I always thought it was just me who had these odd symptoms on my scalp.

Good luck and I hope you find out what's going on .

Linda,

I want to "THANK YOU SO MUCH ", FOR THE INFO ON VITAMIN D DEFICIENCY.:)

Last week I was searching the web because I had been feeling so odd lately,
aches & pain and like I was beat up overnight when I woke up.

I am 51 and thought maybe it was symptoms of menopause. I was thinking ,
"Is this how I'm going to feel the rest of my life"? !
I felt 80 years old when I woke up.

Well, anyway ,I came across your post about go to a Dr and getting
a blood test for V/D deficiency. Wow, that made total sense to me
as I had stopped taking my calcium pills with Vit D a few weeks before
as I was concerned with calcium build up in my body.

Well ,I immediatly took 2 pills and another in the evening. The next day I felt back to normal. I've been
taking a multi vitamin everyday and my calcium with vit D and I feel terrific !
This happened last wednesday June 24th. So you can see how quickly
it made me feel better. My Dr did prescrib calcium with vitamin D so now I know why !

Well , just wanted to Thank you and say "God Bless you for being
my angel" .

Pam,
Thank Goodness you realized you'd stopped taking your supplement of D and calcium. You're personal experience on testing it yourself is testimony alone.
isn't it wonderful when we can actually experience things that others tell us to try and we see it really works? I'm a very skeptical person when it comes to taking supplements and or diets, etc.
so when I found out for myself that it really was lack of D why I was feeling so horrible. My body was wasting away because it was so low.

It really is so true how wonderful this miracle vitamin is.

so many people world wide have a deficiency in it and the medical teams are just learning how important D is needed for our bodies and organs to function properly. I never believed in taking supplements and vitamins till I had to take it by my doctor.

they have found out in studies that people who have colon and breast cancer were vitamin D deficient. so they're saying there's a link between D vitamin and cancers. I'm sure you know all of this by now. right?

just thought I'd throw it in anyway.
I really am so happy for you Pam.
Keep up the good work and there's nothing better in life than having a healthy body and serene mind.

Blessings

Vitamin d

Linda
I have been reading about Vitamin D and the cancer link. Very interesting.
My mother and her sister both died of breast cancer. My mother was
48.
I feel sooo blessed to know this now !

I'm still feeling great and one other benefit of it... I think......

The last couple months I've had severe cramping and bloating
with my period. This month after I starting taking Vit D.....I had no cramping
and no bloating ! Sorry to share such a personal thing ,but I really think it
may be connected. I'll see what happens next month.
One other thing, I will be seeing my Dr soon. I'll definetly be telling her all
about this !

Thanks again and for your reply also.

Pam

Wow Pam, You're mom was so young.
I'm so sorry to hear of this unfortunate news
and the fact that her sister died of it too.
My gosh!
Now YOU have to be very careful with your breast exams and you probably
have to have the ultra sounds and MRI's like I do?

All because of our family history.

I'm happy to hear that you're watching your body and
seeing what works for your cramps and bloating. I"m doing the same thing with watching what my body does. I"m very in tune with my body.
a lot of people aren't you know?
I find that different foods cause my abdomen to do that.
plus when I get backed up.

I don't find it uncomfortable at all to discuss how the human body functions. I'm not like that.
I am very open and free when it comes to that and I find I have to
be the one who apologizes to people who can't handle it.
you and I are very similar.

Thank you for your reply too Pam.

Have a great Sunday.

Linda
