left leg numb to pain and temp
Hey there. My left leg is numb to pain and temperature. Last December (2010), one random day I noticed that my left leg felt very strange in the bathtub. It wasn't recognizing the hot water, and ever since then I've been unable to feel temperature or pain. I can feel pressure, such as when people touch my leg. I've done the needle test, and my hip/upper thigh are a little sensitive to it, but going further down my leg I feel no sharp sensation whatsoever.
I was stretching quite a bit the day it happened, but I don't know if that's related. I've had pretty constant back pain for a decade or so, and pretty heavy/very painful menstruations.
Also, on an unrelated note, I've noticed that my hair growth has increased over the last year or so as well. I'm a 21 year old girl, and I've been getting my eyebrows and upper lip waxed since I was about ten (yes, I'm hairy). I've always had to go about every month, but in the last year it's been once a week. No idea if the random increase in hair growth is related at all, but perhaps what's going on with my leg is somehow endocrine related?
A MRI of my lower lumbar came up normal, two neurologists have no answer for me after doing needle tests and such, one physical therapist said that I have a block in nerve transmission in my lower back/hip and just needed time for the nerve to heal, other doctors/physical therapists basically threw their hands up and said "wait for it to heal". It's been a year and no change so far.
What's going on?!
