My Brain Tumor - Brain Tumors Message Board

Hi I just recieved some bad news this week. I have a brain tumor. It is not cancerous, but it is in a bad spot. It is near the main blood vessel that supplies blood to the brain. It is a regrowth of a tumor that was removed. I am worried to say the least.

You will certainly be fine - given that the tumor is not malignant.

Lots of warm thoughts from somebody who is waiting on MRI results and scared out of her wits (despite doctor's reassurance that it is NOT a brain tumor but an ear infection).

I have read up on this topic though - and it appears that the benign tumors can be easily dealt with.

A major hug - and think of your spiritual figure. There are larger forces outside of this material world of ours, and the good ones are there to protect and care for us. Think of your angel - it will come to rescue.

Hi aunteeker,

You and I are in the same boat. I too have a benign brain tumor that is completely encasing my carotid artery. What kind of tumor do you have? Mine is a pituitary tumor.

People don't seem to understand how serious a benign brain tumor can be. While benign brain tumors are not cancerous, they can still grow and cause major damage, loss of vision, or be life threatening because of the location.

I am fortunate that I am able to control my tumor with medication, and I'm hoping that surgery won't be necessary. Because of the location, the risk of surgery is too great, and they wouldn't be able to remove it all. So I am hoping the medication that I'm taking continues to work.
