Re: Brain fog, dizziness, fullness in ears, pressure behind eyes, things moving: Base

i am new on the this board...all my buddies are on the thyroid and adrenal board. i have dizzines 24/7 i have anxiety pretty much all the time...i also havve the jittery shaky feeling (but that seems to be regulated better when eating consistant meals ). it is not out of control it just feels like my nervous system is hightened and very wired feeling. noises bother me ...good news or bad news doesn't matter is stressful...i feel stressed if it is good or bad. i also have the pressure feeling in my head...more in my face region.
i guess i should explain from the beg. after the birth of my 3 rd baby i was on birthcontrol and after excercising i had a scary incident my arm went numb. being only 30 i didn't think i was having a stroke..but went to the er and they never found anything. so, i beleve that is where the "anxiety"began. i have been a n athlete my entire life and bc my arm went numb while i was excercising i had this crazzy fear to excercise. a few months later my doctor found that my thyroid level was 79 ...which is off the chart and rediculous...but even at that point i felt fine...just nervous about everything. i was tired bc i had a new born..but i did not have any symptoms like i do now. i noticed that after i started taking the synthetic synthroid i felt this brainfog feeing and pressure and dizziness and that was 3 and 1/2 years ago...the doctors told me i would be feeling great within a few weeks with the energy and stuff...3 weeks came and went and i was not getting better. i started noticing shocks in my body and depresssion set in...bc it was scary. i realized that something was wrong with the medication. something was wrong. i was one of those people that did not properly convert from t4 to t3 and looked to doctors as a complete hypocondriac but i knew my symptoms were real so i ditched the so called normal doctors and found a natural doctor completely out of my pocket...to figure some things out. she switched me to natural thyroid... adrenals are also an issue for me, that is what i was going to suggest for all on here, read about it because i think the common denominator for us is the stress and stress wreaks havoc on our nervous system. ther e are natural way so deal with this and i agree i am terrified to put anything in my body that doctors recommend unless i have researchhed it well...i have lost faith in the fda as well and have my issues with the foods that aare being approved on the shelves of grocery stores...that is another soap box for me...but adrenal are key...adrenals are how our body deals with stress and it regulates all the hormones on board ...i do know i also have foood sesitivities and agree with people on here about that. i am still on this journey i have 3 beautiful girls that are so special and i hate the fact that i can't function the way i used to. i am very tired of feeling sick and i am working on finding my solution. it is encouraging to know that i am not alone. i noticed someoone posted there temp. anything below 98.6 could be adrenal issues or hypothyroid...so i can't remeber who it was might want to check into that. just take your temp in the am and 3 hours later againevery 3 hours and see if it stays regular ..if not you may have issues with cortisol adn that can easily be fixed by diet and excercise and supplements, and excercise. i say easily... but it takes time and dedication to destress your life. i am not there but one day maybe i can say i will get there!. i pray that there will be an end to this dizzziness. it is very frustrating. hope we all find some answers.

hey,

i am so sorry that you have to deal with people believing that you're nuts or exaggerating. it's really one of the worst parts. i live with my dad and grandparents. my grandpa doesn't treat me very nicely because he thinks i'm scared of the world and have just decided to slack off... does he really think this is what i've chosen to do for the last year and 8 months? you should have seen him when i went to visit my best friend after a year of social isolation. he probably thinks i act while i'm here and party it up with friends whenever i leave.

unfortunately we can't force people to understand. they never will unless they've gone through it themselves.

i'll be happy to keep talking to you, but i just wanted to let you know i'm in the same boat as you, with some possible slight differences concerning symptoms. don't let those who think you're nuts get to you too badly. it really will drive you nuts, lol.

I responded to this very thread about 2 weeks ago, was actually my first post. I shared much of the same symptoms on this very thread, a full 7 days went by with not a single person responding (did not help my confidence much) I finally was able to delete it.

But yes I have much of the same symtoms. balance off, 3 major dizzy spells over 3 months, pulsating tinitus in left ear, hearing comes and goes in the left ear. Have dizziness that does not reach major proportions between major spells. The 3 major spells left me very sick for the day, after not being able to stand up. When I turn my neck ever so slightly both directions I get the snack cracking and pop inside my head. Dr says nothing to worry about, I go again today actually.

This sounds so familiar. My son Bryan had a bad fall from a tree in August '08. He received a concussion with a large laceration to the back of the skull plus fractures in the bony protrusions that run along the spine in C2 and C3. He had to wear a hard neck collar for weeks. Ever since he has been experiencing life altering physical symptoms for which he cannot get a diagnosis. He constantly feels as if his head is filling with fluid. His ears crackle when ever he swallows. He has a sensitivity to bright light, like at Walmart and has to wear dark glasses. He always feels like he is coming down with the flu. Also experiences dizziness and the head fullness is worse when he takes a shower. He is so depressed because nobody can tell him what is wrong. He has been to the neurologist, ENT, Allergist and his primary care physician so many times. There is some fluid in his ear but nothing that should be causing the severity of his symptoms. This is very frustrating and seems directely related to his fall.

april18,
when you said adrenline and tremors...you HAVE adrenal fatigue. i know this is your first post so i can't private message you. check out the book adrenal fatigue -the 21st century stress syndrome by j. wilson. i am textbook case and my guess is you are too..with just hte little bit of info you have written. it is recoverable, just takes dedication and working on destressing by the methods in the book. i have been doing it for some time now and i am cnvinced that we live in a society where this syndrome might not be recognized yet but it is real and very damaging to lives. hang in there and if you get the book tell me what you think . hope this helps.

Hi there.
I am in shock that ive found a person who experiences everything i do, no worms in my vision though. Its a mongrol of a thing.. how dare it take away my intellect! That part disturbs me the most. Isoptin and verapamil are controlling 70% of the symptoms they stop me from sitting in a corner.
I was a victim in two accidents both close together ,and the perscribed drugs over the last four years have included 20mg morphine patches 24/7, plus heaps of panadeine forte, maximum doses of zoloft I had to wean myself off all of that which was hard enough, in my depression i stupidly fell prey to the meth ice. I have blamed that last one and wouldnt be surprised if that was the reason i've had a 'brain blowout'. There is only so much i can subject my little self to. You asked about bone deformities or spurs, well yes to that too, from the recent accident and one in my childhood. I'm glad to not be alone. Sorry ..that sounds bad. Hope you have a good day.

Hi Krahon,

How have you been getting on with your search for the cause of your symptoms? I read you list of symptoms and I have most of them too. I have TMJ dysfunction which I think is probably the cause of all of my symptoms. I have started treatment with a TMJ dentist for this. I also have the brain fog, and wasn't aware that it was related to my TMJ until I saw the dentist. Apparently it's very common to have brain fog with tmj dysfunction. I also have floaters in my field of vision, which you described as worms. My tmj dentist is not aware the eye floaters are related, but I am sure they are.

Are you sure you don't have Meniere's disease? You have all the symptoms. Has your doctor checked you for Meniere's? If not, he/she needs to do so.

Re: Brain fog, dizziness, fullness in ears, pressure behind eyes, things moving: Base

Hello all,

I have been dealing with inner ear isssues for a while as well and can really relate to all of your symptoms regardless of the inner ear diagnosis. Mine happened after a viral infection.

I just wanted to add that when it comes to the inner ear it is really heard to diganose what exactly is the real issue going on. For instance... if the inner ear is affected we get dizzy, balance problems etc. BUTTHE IMPRTANT THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT A WHOLE OST OF SECONDARY SYMPTOMS CAN ARISE FROM THAT. sUCH AS... THE BRAIN FOG, MENTAL FATIGUE, ANXIETY, TREMOR LIKE FEELINGS, VISUAL GAZE PROBLEMS, EYES JUMPY, STIFFNESS AND SOARNESS IN THE NECK, HEAD, AND EARS.

All those secondary spin out affect symtoms are very very common with iner ear dysfunction regardless of the diagnosis. To explain.. our balance system is comrpised of balance sensors in the brain. inner ear, eyes and base of neck. All of those components allow us to keep our balance system in baalance. When one is off then the other sensors are off hence the stiffening in the neck and shoulders to compensate.

For anyone who hasn;t read the book, :The BRain THat Changes ITself". read it especially the first chapter. There is a device called the brain port that isn't yet FDA approves in the states yet that is helping people with vestibular dysfunction retrain the brain to recreate balance where traditional vestibular excercises haven't worked or someone has platued on them.

Never give up hope and just realize that all these secondary symptoms are common with inner ear dysfunction. Hopefull soon we will be able to benefit from the brain port device!

Good LUck to everyone!

Hi bcb

I too was told I had labs after a 3 week bout of strange sx's (VERY similar to alot of sx's posted here) in 2008. Symptoms acted up again in 2009 and I was told it was stress & low vit d. I was tested for Lyme in Nov. 2009 and mine too was negative. I had suspected Lyme though before and posted on a Lyme website.

I found an LLMD and you guessed it, I have Lyme and babesia. I only recall a deer tick in 2001, unfortunately when I was pregnant win my first child and yes, he has it too.

I am assuming my youngest has it too since she had her appt last month and we didn't get a call to cancel it if the test came back negative. Hubby is next to get tested.

I have been on abx since January and am 90% better. The sx's my son HAD, are gone, YEA!, since he started abx over 2 months ago. (apparently kids get rid of it easier thank GOD)

I guess now I have to get myself to 100% and start my daughter on abx. BTW, my daughter has special needs and seizures so we are thinking it's all related.

Good luck too you with your tx!
