deja vu and memory loss

I am a healthy 55 year old female who has had deja vu events for the past year (every 4 months) and when I have the 2-3 day periods of deja vu, I forget the past few months of my life. I have had an MRI of my brain and they have found no brain tumors. I was lucky enought this past time to call my neurologist and was hooked up to monitor the deja vu feelings and to try to figure out if I am having seizures or what my problem is. I am waiting to hear the results of the mobil EEG. I have been under a lot of stress the past year and I just want to know if there is something physcial or mentally wrong with me. I am really frustrated right now.

Re: deja vu and memory loss

Bathum,

Welcome to the boards!!

It is understandable that you'd feel the way you do...and it may be frightening to not know what is wrong.

If your doctors test and find nothing, time after time, I would encourage you to learn more about Lyme Disease...it is the Great Imitator as it can mimic over 200 medical conditions (physical and mental)...and it is very difficult to diagnose. For more info, check out the Lyme Boards.

You live in PA and I believe Lyme may be reaching epidemic numbers there.

Re: deja vu and memory loss

My son also has memory loss and deja vu. Very in line with his complex partial seizures. He has abnormal EEGs.
