Re: what could cause a seizure in a 3 year old child
Has the child hit his/her head recently? Is the child on meds? Fluorescent lights, video games, TV, electro magnetic fields and aspartame can contribute to seizures. The child needs to be seen by a neurologist that can do an EEG and MRI to see what activity is going on in the brain. They need to see if there are any scars, tumors, etc. on the brain. I would also recommend the childs neurotransmitters be tested. I have a friend who has a young boy that has seizures and the drs. can't find what is triggering them. Sometimes these aren't serious and the child will outgrow them but you should have your PCP recommend a neurologist and have the child examined to be on the safe side.
