tremor analysis test
I've had a tremor in my hands for 11 yrs (I was told it was essential tremor) In the past 3-4 yrs, I started to having balance problems. It started with sidestepping once in a while, when changing positions. It's slowly progressed, now I sidestep a lot more. But, in the past few months or so, my gait is now affected. I sort of make more of an S shape while walking.
I've had all kinds of tests, ruling out things like MS, brain tumors, vitamin deficiencies, etc. I was sent to Columbia University's movement disorder doctors for further investigation because my neurologist was at a loss.
I was seen by them, they took a video of me, and called back. They suggest the next thing is to do a tremor analysis test, to somehow look in to if the tremor I had for 11 years is somehow related. They didn't explain how it might be related or what they are looking for.
The problem is, my insurance doesn't cover the test, they said it would be about $600. So, I'm trying to find out more info about the test, and if it would be worth spending that much.
Any info would be appreciated.
