I am a 24 female. I gradually get really exhausted every day. This has been going on for the past two months. I've had to leave work early twice and I've fallen asleep at work sitting on a stool! (No one was in the store). I don't have narcolepsy and I've had a study for sleep apnea and it was negative. I get tired after a couple hours of being awake and I get really bad migraines. When I get "tired" it actually feels like someone slipped me some morphine. I can't remember simple things or concentrate. It's hard to understand what people are saying to me. My speech becomes slurred. I also have hearing loss and pressure in my ears. I've messed up a couple times at work and I am really embarrassed about it. My vision gets fuzzy and doubled and I feel outside of my self. I usually only work 4 hour shifts and when I get home, I have to go right to sleep. If I don't go right to sleep, I get really bad migraines, dry mouth and nausea. My sleep study specialist and regular physician tell me that because I have a history of anxiety, they have to rule it out before they can do any other tests. I've had anxiety since I was about 13 years old and I know what it feels like. This is not anxiety. I tried to tell my doctors this and they didn't seem to care.
I find out more information online than I do from my doctor and all I've found that matches my symptoms are brain tumors. I told my doc I wanted a scan done and she said I have to wait until my psychologist says that it's not my anxiety. The waiting list to see her is 2 months and I can't continue working or living this way any longer. I also have arthritis and scoliosis and the pain seems to have worsened since my exhaustion spell.
If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it. Coffee doesn't help me at all and I'm on a multivitamin. I don't think it's anemia because I had it once when I had back surgery and this feels different. I don't get dizzy or feel like I'm going to pass out.
Thanks so much in advance

O.k. so now my boss has started getting snippy with me. I don't know what to do. I can't help that I'm not as productive as I used to be. I didn't vacuum one day cuz I didn't have time and she asked me what the rebellion was with the vacuum?!?! I work as hard as I can but I get SO tired and have to sit down for a few minutes. AND, I'm the only one who vacuums or cleans, ever. It was the first time in a year that I didn't do something she asked me to. My doctor is not a help at all in any of this. Do I just have to tough this out until I see my new doctor? Does anyone have any suggestions? I can't keep working and living this way. Can I go to the ER for something like this or will they laugh at me? I feel it's the only way to get the tests I need to figure out what's wrong and try to fix or help the problem. I'm so lost.
Anyone????

I am sorry nobody has answered you. Please try and get into see an internal med doc. I would ask to have all of your blood levels checked, thyroid, glucose, anything else they can think of because of your symptoms.
i have the same issues with my dr and now they are doing test that i dont think have anything to do with the other but i'll continue if your dr is brushing you off i would find another one who will listen.

Oh gee, I feel sooooooo bad for you! Please, you don't need to get an expensive test to start with. The next time you go for blood tests, just ask your doctor for a prolactin test for a start. I can't stress this enough for people who are too tired, have gained too much weight, or have been marked down has having mere anxiety!
That little test will catch many pituitary tumours. Since about one out of five people has such a tumour, (but not everyone has it grow a lot), you should have that looked into without delay!
I know what you are going through. When my tumour was just very tiny -- very very tiny, I already had serious problems like yours. I used to eat my dinner and then fall asleep on the kitchen floor. I was in a near coma before I started to insist on better help.
Oh -- and always, always ask your doctors for copies of all your lab tests. Start a binder for yourself. Also get pictures of every MRI and X-ray you get even if you have to buy them! There will be many dangerous things that will be missed if you don't watch out for your own health and start using the Internet to look up anything you don't understand. Patients today need to learn to read their lab tests. Doctors are very rushed and are missing a lot of things due to very high stress themselves.
