Period eight weeks postpartum while breastfeeding? - Breastfeeding Message Board

My baby is almost eight weeks old and today I have had light cramping and light bleeding. My midwife said I probably wouldn't get my period while I was breastfeeding. I have been breastfeeding exclusively with the exception of a bottle once every few days that my husband will feed him if i go out. Would that be enough to give my period already. Does that also mean that I am fertile. I had sex right after my six week apointment unprotected with no ejaculation and I am so worried that this is an implantation bleeding, but i do have cramps.

Has anyone gotten their period this soon after while breastfeeding?

You are the exception, as am I. We are just the unlucky ones. I was exclusivey BF and my son is 12 weeks old. I got my first period at 10 weeks PP....YUCK!

I got mine at 6 weeks PP while BF. It sucks!!!!

HAHA, I got mine 5 weeks. Yes just 4 weeks after giving birth. I had stopped bleeding at 2 weeks after the birth and bang there I had my period again.

I know many women told me that you weren't suppose to get your period.. or at least not for awhile. Not with me!

Well I guess it wan't a period because it only lasted a few hours.

Has that happenes to anyone postpartum? Is it anything to worry about or normal to bleed for just a few hours. It wasn't very much.
