broken hand - Burns & Injuries Message Board

Hi all I broke 2 middle fingers on my left hand.OUCH IT HURT!!!!! I hit my kitchen table going down to pick something up off the floor than when I hit it I pulled my hand back up quickthan hit it again on the way back up.

I went to thr ER last night cause my hand was swollen 4x the sixe and I could'nt move it.
I have to go in next week to get it casted.I'm 28 (29 in oct ) and have had a broken bone when I was younger but as a adult I havent had one.(till now)

has any one broken thier fingers b4 and what did they do for them?

i was hit with a field hockey ball on the finger. I did more then break it but i was told they can't really do anything for broken fingers other than put them in a splint. one of those metal things with foam on the inside. Hope you feel better. I know how bad they can hurt!

Finger fractures generally take about a month for new bone to heal, 6 weeks before it is sturdy enough to be passively stretched. In the meantime, keep your hand elevated and keep your splint in place!
