| Old finger injuries causing problems but not getting help with it..
I've experienced several injuries to the little finger on my right hand. No wounds but many of these injuries were never treated. I did have one or two treated and know I had a crack once and a partial dislocation.
I also had ulnar nerve compression surgery (twice) on my right elbow and I understand this nerve runs into the little, ring finger.
Anyways my little finger does not bend properly. If I make a fist it will not bend fully down to the palm of my hand. If I push it down and let go it pops back up.
I spoke to the plastic surgeon who did my elbow operation several months ago about the finger problem and nothing was said, he looked at it for 2 seconds.
A few months later I brought it up again since it hasn't improved and was told 'you already spoke about this!"
The issue I am having is pain has started in the finger and its not burning pain. Also with mobility, its hard to pick up objects because the little finger does not want to curl or grip around objects.
I put up with it the best I can and have tried physio. It's not helping. I was told by another doctor that 'the pinky finger is not important part of your hand.'
I know some of this could be due to the ulnar nerve compression but many of these issues started when I experienced finger injuries and after these injuries had trouble bending.
If I want to see another surgeon I need a referral and I'm having trouble getting one!
If nothing can be done I will learn to live with it but would like to see someone.
Anyone else experience similar? Maybe a tendon problem?
