help! biometrics test in a week and have a burn blister on thumb!

I burnt my thumb on a tray from the oven. The timing is lousy as I have a biometrics test in a week and now have a nice white blister on my thumb!
My sole objective is to get the skin on the thumb ready to be scanned in the biometrics test.
I am planning on leaving the blister up until the night before the test, then either drain or remove in order to scan the print.
Does that sound like the best option? Or should I drain now to toughen the skin up faster underneath?
Infection is of course a concern, but secondary to getting my fingerprint back!
Suggestions?
