Scissors slipped n I end up with 18 stitches. How do I know its healing?
Hi. When trying to open my eyelash curlers, the scissors slipped and stabbed through a couple layers of skin around my thumb at 2 inches by 2 inches. The stitches r sposed to be removed tomorrow but are STILL achy and throbbing. Jtll be a week tomorrow and I'm told not to use much, but how do I NOT use my right thumb? Its looking worse than a few days ago too. And has diff periods of bleeding still. Is this sounding normal at all? Marla

Difficult to say...... of course, if you are at all oncerned, you should get ti checked by a doctor or nirse.

Could you use some surgical tape to tape the thumb against the side of your hand/next finger, so that it doesnt move and keep opening up the wound?

Taking zinc and vitamin c supplements is said to speed healing of wounds etc.

Ok. Thank u. Scheduled tomorrow for stitches removal its just that area effected is way below thumb and it almost looks worse than it did 4 days ago really!! I just feel better posting it here with this support cuz its really bad! Marla

When your stitches are taken out, if the doctor doesn't give you any information, don't hesitate to ask why it still hurts so much and what you can expect in the way of healing. A lot of doctors seem to take it for granted that the patient knows what he/she does. joco44
