So on wed on got a real bad sunburn on my belly and chest, im talking probably the worst burn ive ever gotten. The pain is finally starting to go away and its starting to blister and itch a little now. But around my lower stomach, it looks like im all bloated and "puffed up". I was just wondering why its like this and when can i expect it to become normal again? Its puffed up so bad it looks like ive got a beer gut and its buggin the heck out of me. Can anybody shed a little light on this for me? Thanks!
What you described is actually second degree burns especially where it has blistered. it is normal for a burn to cause swelling. Their is a lot of fluidthat accumulated on and around a second degree burn. That is probably what is happening. Since this sounds like a large burn and a second degree one in some places , you really ought to see your DR. The Dr. will explain to u what you need to do to take care of the burn and treat the burns . After the blisters go down or pop your skin is vulnerable to infection . this is the biggest concern. The Dr. could perscribe you a special burn cream that will make healing time faster. But, you will have to cover the area as well, which is difficult on the stomach. Keep the area clean and dry, and see your Dr.
I have a severe sunburn on my belly and am experiencing the extreme swelling you talked about. Can you tell me how long it took for the swelling to go down for you? Like you said it's extremely annoying! Thanks!
