Lightbulb Question about Wound Healing

Hi, I am looking for information on how a wound heals, if it's left untreated. I Googled this and really only come up with treatment options. I'm looking for a time line so this question is posed for anyone who understands the medical process of infected wounds. I am a writer and in my most recent novella, a little girl is bit by a dog. Because she is on her own, this would is not treated. The weather is very hot, like in the high 90's. Over the course of three days what would happen to the wound? Could you also elaborate on what would happen over the course of 7 days? If possible, let me know what infections may occur so I can Google those. The wound type is an Avulsion, as in the dog punctured and tore away a piece of flesh. What if something were to touch the wound, like a dirty rag? Any information is welcomed and very much appreciated!
