| Pain in index fingertip feels like splinter
For over a week now I have had a very bad pain in my fingertip. I'm not sure what has caused it, but I was helping my husband put up some plasterboard and I was trying to keep it level with my fingertip and he banged the plasterboard against the wall which trapped my finger, which did hurt for a couple of minutes. I didn't think anything of it until the evening when it was very painful when it brushed against anything. There is no punture wound from a splinter but it feel like there is a tiny piece of glass in my finger. However if I press hard it stops hurting for about 30 seconds then comes back again, bizarre! Haven't been to the doctor yet as I don't know what they can do, but it is very debilating, as typing, picking things up and doing anything is a chore. I try not to use it but it is very difficult not to and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Any ideas anyone?
