Hot Water Bottle Burns

Hi guys,
So i'm currently in bed with a rotten cold, and have been hugging a hot water bottle for the last couple of hours.
I just got up to get some more tissues and noticed i have a red rash under my skin on my stomach and lower chest area. It hasn't gone after 20 minutes, but I don't feel any pain or irritation. It doesn't even feel any warmer than normal body temperature.
Any insights on what this is? Or how/if/when it will go away?
Thanks!! xxx

PS- The hot water bottle is in a jumper-like material case and i am wearing a vest, so the rubber wasn't touching my bare skin, and it couldn't be an irritation to the material.

Re: Hot Water Bottle Burns

Greetings Jammy11 Welcome to the health boards! Sometimes people get what a heat rash after a heat application. The heat and moisture sometimes activate a bit of fungus on the skin in my opinion but there may be other causes. I would avoid sugar they make colds worse and feed fungus or germs on the skin. I would try to let the skin dry out. Peace sjb

Re: Hot Water Bottle Burns

However, if somebody get burn from hot water then use turmeric it is an excellent antiseptic and finds considerable use in hot water bottle burn treatment. Other herbs and natural products such as calendula, propolis, resin from bees wax, and gotu kola are also effective in hot water bottle burn treatment
