i posted this on the urology board but i thought it might be helpful to all of you women. i've been having microscopic blood in my urine for 2 months. i had an ultrasound on my kidneys which showed a couple of cysts which the doctor was not concerned about. today i had the test where they put a camera up into the bladder. what they found was i had scar tissue from 3 pregnancies at the base of the bladder near the opening where the urine is expelled. just above the area there is supposed to be a mucus type lining but mine was gone. perhaps from past low grade infections (ive only had one bladder infection 20 years ago) or just erosion. this area was inflammed. i am on antibiotics for 6 weeks and will probably have to go for regular urine tests every 4-6 months to monitor since i guess i would be at high risk for any further bleeding. just wanted to let everyone know. i had never heard of this condition before.
