My FIL had surgery in June 2006 for bladder cancer. He is close to 90 years old. They had to do the surgery because he was bleeding a lot.
We were told it was very aggressive, fast growing cancer that started in the OUTER muscle wall of his bladder.
He has been in the hospital since last Sat. They thought he was having a gallbladder attack, but it turned out to be:
1. Fluid in his lungs from congestive heart failure
2. One of his kidneys has a blockage and cannot drain
3. He has a "spot" on one lung
4. He has suspicious areas in his colon, and a thickening wall in his rectum
5. There is cancer in his bladder again

We are meeting with his urologist at 4:30 this afternoon. Can someone think of some questions I can ask to get a good overall understanding of what his options are (should I ask about life expectancy?)

We have already been told they will do nothing invasive because of his weakened condition and his heart problems. What kind of questions should I ask so I can inform his other children and grandchildren.
