Bladder lift surgery

I am scheduled to have a bladder lift surgery with a sling type net to hold up the bladder, stretch the urethea tube and reconstruct my vaginal wall all by a robotic method through my naval. I had a total hysterictomy 6 years ago through my vagina. I am concerned about this method and the results following my upcoming surgery . Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Re: Bladder lift surgery

Hi Sheryl!
Did you have the surgery yet? I found out yesterday that I need the surgery also! Two OB's told me that my prolapsed uterus was causing me symptoms. Yesterday a very seasoned OBGyn told me that my cystocele and rectocele were more of a problem than my uterus. I'm getting the Prolift surgery probably at the beginning of 2008. I was wondering how are you doing and have you had the surgery yet?

Good Luck!

Reply to Aleet7:
I had a bladder lift and vaginal wall lift surgery done on Wed., Dec. 12. My urologist choose to do the surgery vaginally instead of using the robotic method on me. Yes, I am a little sore when I sit down but I think it will be worthwhile that I finally had it done. Good luck and do not hesitate to have the surgery.

Re: Bladder lift surgery

Sheryl,
I'm glad to hear that your surgery went well! I'm having a urodynamic test done on Tuesday to see if I have bladder incontinence or to what degree. Thank you for replying, especially with you just having your surgery. I feel better about getting it done after hearing from you!

Best Wishes,
Aleet7
