| bladder
Hi all. I am new to this particular section. I have posted in mainly the back problem section.
I have a question. First a little about myself! I have been thru 6 spine surgeries. I have instrumentation in my neck/upper back and lumbar spine. I also have a spinal cord stimulator for pain control.
In addtioin, I am diabetic, I also was born with one kidney and in kidney failure the diabetes. I also had surgery on my leg for a blood clot.
Here is the current situation, I have more spine problems; stenosis in the lumbar and cervical areas. Surgery looks like may be the answer to the current problem. But I was told that from the spine problems I could have bladder problems and paralysis if the surgery is not done.
I am having urinary problems in frequency and urgency. The doctor has recommended an Ultrasound of the bladder and renal, which has been scheduled. Also scheduled is a test called Urodynamics.
Other problems seemed to have been ruled out. MY PSA is 2.5 and felt fine upon examination to the doctor. He doesn't think my urinary problems are connected to the diabetes.
He feels that the problems is due to the Stenosis of the spine.
Can anyone tell me about the tests? And if it is connected, can it be treated my medications or is surgery a last resort option? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks for listening.
