Mystery pelvic/bladder pain
My current symptoms are as follows:
Sporadic sharp pain on the left side of my bladder area (inguinal?)
Near constant "awareness" that something is not right there
Both kidneys feel inflammed and hurt, sporadically
Rectal spasms and nerve pain shoots around on occasion.
This all started when I awoke at 2:30 am around July 20th of 2009 with a VERY sharp pain in one point on the left side of my bladder area. Jerked me awake with me yelling WHAT THE HELL?! A few days later I went to the emergency room with swollen testical area and a diagnosis of epididymitis. Three rounds of medication later the epididymitis went away but now I am left with the symptoms above.
I saw a specialist in November and he said to take hot baths morning and night, and come back in six months. I tried and also used a heating pad many nights. The problem is still there. I researched the symptoms and can only think it is an inguinal hernia or a groin strain. I took started taking Bikram Yoga classes just three weeks prior to the event and stretched both legs back very far and so this is the only anomaly during that period besides perhaps straining during bowel movements. However, if I feel the area there are no lumps whatsoever and pushing does not cause pain. Playing tennis with the start/stop motion aggravates it although I can run and the pain seems to go away perhaps due to endorphins. Sex function is not affected. No change in urine and no pain urinating. Eating grapefruit daily for easy bowel movements. I am afraid to run longer, play tennis, or do any situps.
Seven months now and I am still struggling. I plan to get another appointment but considering the first one didn't yield any advice I don't know.
Any advice is appreciated! I don't know what else to do but pray.
(Update: I should also say that at the hospital they gave me a 30 minute ultrasound of my entire groin area as well as a scan of the area of pain in question with the result of epididymitis. I also got a second one after that. I suppose it could be a stone of some sort. I am actually feeling pain now as I type this. A sharp pain in the same area. Argh).
