Re: Bone Cancer Info. Please
Treatment for bone cancer consists of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. Surgery will probably be either limb sparing or amputation. Limb sparing will try to save his arm by removing the tumor and surrounding tissue. Amputation is usually when its too far spread to save the limb. It's impossible to tell what his prognosis is because I don't know what type of bone cancer it is, extent of the growth, and how well it will respond to treatment. Everyone is different and responds differently to treatment. Bone cancer is pretty rare. He is young which is in his favor. I also recommend clinical trials in addition to other treatments. One of our board members, Prayingmom, maybe able to help. Her son was diagnosed with a bone cancer and she is familiar with the treatments. Come here whenever you need to vent. Good luck and tell us how it goes.
