| Re: Secondary bone cancer
My mother also has secondary bone from a rare type of Thyroid cancer. What helped her most was simarium (I am not sure if that is the right spelling). It is a kind of liquid radiation that targets bones. The side effects were minimal. SHe had a large tumor removed from her back and her back rebuilt - mind you they caught mom's very late and it was very advanced so the tumor had actually cracked a vertibra. The operation of removing the tumor made her not only feel no pain from the pinched nerve anymore, but she had said that she thinks the reinforced back bone means new mets are not bothering her as much as they would. On that note I have heard of doctors reinforcing bone cancer bones - I don't know how widely that it done, but it couldn't hurt to ask her doctor.
Her back is strong now even though she is in final stage. There is no cure that is known of - but keeping people pain free should be the goal of her doctors. Mom is still enjoying life.
(There was one thing called Blood Wart paste, she wanted to try once - but it is one of those unproven holistic meds.)
Sorry about your Mom. Hope all goes well.
