secondary bone cancer

brother had esophagus cancer 2years ago operated on and doing realy well ,had cancer in 2 lymph nodes but they said chemo before op would clear that up, just been told after 2 years he now has secondary bone cancer given 12 months im devastated for him we thought hed beat it.can he get longer does any one know anyone who has lived longer i know he cant be cured but 12 months its so unfair he is very fit and healthy.he is 50.
