Yesterday I had my 2nd colonoscopy and the doctor "talked" to me while I was still asleep. Apparently I appear coherant and awake because this is not uncommon to happen to me.
In recovery when the nurse was checking me out, she said, the doctor already talked to you. I said no. She said nothig, you dont remember talking to the doctor. I said no, nothing.
The nurse said she removed 12 polyps. That's it.
As the day progressed yesterday, I do remember bits and pieces. I remember being asked if the doctor that did the previous colonoscopy found anything at all. I remember being asked if I have a family history of colon cancer. I remember the doctor in my face telling me "I got all. I removed all of it."
Geeze, why do I schedule my appointments on Friday...now I get to sit here until Monday before I get some answers?
I've had over 12 polyps removed also. They will send them away for any suspicious ones and that takes about a week. The doctor should have seen you again just to reassure you. And yes, it sucks when they leave you hanging and having to wait! I would like to do it to them one time and see how they feel. Anything show up with the 1st one? Monday will come soon enough. Enjoy your day and relax.

They always tell me when I leave after my colonoscopy that if any bleeding, pain etc occur, call the doctor. Is the bleeding a lot? I'm not sure about the diaherra because you were all cleaned out. , If I were you and if the bleeding is heavy def go to the ER. Good luck
ps: could be light bleeding from polyps being cut out.
Not heavy bleeding but the blook is in the poop...a lot of diahrea. See...I've had a colonoscopy before and I know there was a possibility of some blood because of cutting the polyps but now? after 2 days of no bleeding?
I don't like the way I was NOT informed. Had it just been the colonoscopy, I would have been fine, but I think I deserved to be told a little something..expectations, etc since the polyps were a complete surprize.
I called DR on Saturday and she just seemed frustrated with me th at I called. If I go to ER I think I will make sure I go to a different hospital than where she practices.
As soon as I eat anything I don't throw up, but it goes right thru me.
How are things today? Better I hope. Call your doctor to tell him what happened over the weekend. Maybe the diaherra was still from the colon cleaning you took. Let us know! Thinking of you.
Thank you for your concern. I ended up NOT going to ER....my stomach settled down a bit and I was not having a significant loss of blood...that wasnt a worry so I just put off until today.
Facility called to see how I was doing and I told them of my fun weekend and they suggested I call the doctors office and let them know. I did that, talked to the doctor's nurse and she said doctor was not working today but if she happens to call in or come by the office, she would let her know my feelings.
I think I will move forward on going to follow up with another practice...sometimes it takes awhile to get in.
