Hi everyone,
I"m new to this board as well and just wanted to let some of you ladies know that at 8:30 nov 4th i had surgery to remove both of my ovaries......... well it went well but i was so surprised that when i woke in the recovery room i was told that i had both ovaries removed both tubes plus my appendix taken out all laprascpoicly..........i was allowed to leave the hospital the same day.........same day surgery is wonderful.......the nurse that told care of me said it was the first time that a double ovary removal plus appendix wasnt admitted overnight.............i'm very sure and my belly button looks terrible...stitches and all...........i wont have the path results until friday but the dr said he wasnt worried about cancer any longer my blood work was good and he examined the ovary and cyst on the right side and said he thought it was ok but we shall see..........just wanted to let you all know that dont worry yourselfs until you have all your test results or you will put yourself so through so much stress as i did that it will make it all seem worse then it is...........hope all your tests come back great.........i should tell you that i'm 43 and not quite 2 yrs ago had a part. hysterectomy........and just 3 months ago had surgery to move my bladder back to where it belonged.......darn thing fell..........i was in constant pain until yesterday.........now i'm just in pain from the surgery and i know that will get better every day...............and those transvaginal ultrasounds are so unpleasent (sp) arent they,,,,,,,, but they sure do help tell you whats going on inside..............keep your spirits up if you can........i'm sure trying and if anyone wants to talk about anything at all........just yell..........i will be here to listen or just lend a shoulder to lean or cry on.........my name is Jeanie and if anyone wants to talk just yell............

Great outlook, Jeanie,

So many of us here are worried about our LEEP results. And, really, with the LEEP, the pathology report will tell us what the doctor cut out. We already knew it was bad and that is why we had it treated. Worrying about the results just causes undue stress and delays recovery.

Sounds like you have the right outlook for your recovery. It is nice to hear that your pain is just from the procedure and that will heal soon! Let's hope it is very quickly!!!

Nik

Smile i'm new here too

After rereading my orginal post i noticed that i left out quite a bit of info..........21 yrs ago i had a cone procedure done for early stage cancer........2 ys this feb i had a part. hysterectomy, i thought the pain would never go away from that.........needless to say it didnt and my hormones where like a roller coaster........ended up having panic and anixety disorder and all kinds of meds some of which i'm still taking.

i didnt trust the dr that did my hysterectomy so i found another one , thank god i did.......turns out the pain was from a fallen bladder so i had surgery for that......we all thought that would be the end of it.......it wasnt the pain never went away......after 3 transvaginal sonograms it turned out that i had multiple cysts on the left ovary and a complex one on the right.....this was one month after surgery so i had to wait 2 more months to let my body heal before i could have another surgery.........after the ca-125 was done i was told my blood was normal but they couldnt say for sure that the right ovary wasnt cancerous.....so 4 days ago i had another surgery......both ovaries and tubes where removed as was my appendix.......now that one was a surprise as i didnt know anything was wrong with it.......of course everything was sent to pathology but i dont have the results yet..... i see you ladies posting about LEEPS and am thankful that i didnt have to go through that one.the cone was more then enough.......in all of this i have found that it doesnt pay to worry about whats going on in your body......it stresses you out and of course there isnt a darn thing you can do until all of your results are in so you can make an informed choice of treatment.......

hopefully my results will be fine and non cancerous but i'm not letting myself think about that right now, i'm concentrating on healing.......you would think after 4 days it wouldnt hurt so much but it does i take for ever to heal.....at least on the inside......the outside heals beautifully.......sorry this is so long but it really bothered me that i didnt explain fully in my first post........ i'm finding having a total hysterectomy isnt fun at all. starting with the night sweats now......no hot flashes so far but if they come they come...poor hubby will have to get more blankets.........window will be open........lol......speaking of hubby he has been wonderfull through all of this......i dont know that i have coped as well as he has......if anyone has any questions or justs wants to chat give me a yell i know how much it helps to have someone listen to you even if there isnt anything else they can do for you ..............well i'll end for now........if you need me you know how to find me.
Jeanie

You have such a wonderful outlook. It is true-the rest of us are worried about our leeps. I know I am and it wasn't near as bad as what you had done. The worst part is waiting on the results which I won't get back til Wednesday. But you have a great outlook -just keep it up and keep us informed.

Jeanie,
Your post has surely hit close to home.
I was just diagnosed with 1BII cervical cancer 2 days ago. I don't get to go see the ONC GYN until the 24th. Last night I was up late doing a bunch of research. I kept getting conflicting reports on what to expect after my hyster. Will I need radiation? Will I need chemo?
I just ran into my room and started to bawl on my husban's chest. I think it really hit me then.
We had a long talk, and both you and him are right. I need to concentrate on today, and just remember to go to MY doctors appointment and do what MY doctor says. I'm so glad I read your post. You're right, I need to stop worrying so much!!!!!

Anyways, I'm sure I'll be hitting you up with questions, since you've been through a similiar situation. Thanks for posting!!!
