Fluid adjacent to ovary? Caused by?? - Cancer: Breast Message Board

Would anyone happen to know what it means when i have a small amount of fluid found adjacent to my right ovary? The fluid is non specifc, but i'm just worried.

If anyone has had the same results from an ultrasouns scan, let me know? Or if anyone knows what has caused this?
PLease?

I am 52, and turning 53 in a few months, no period for 8 months.

I had fluid next to ovary on CT and had a cyst the week before on US. They said it was not a big deal and was probably the rupture of cyst. I still have lots of wierd fullness down in that area and am freaking out over OC even after US, CT and CA125. I am going back today (6 months later) for another ultrasound and am terrified.

Hey, if the doctors tell you not to worry, don't! = )

I'm just confused at why i even have that extra fluid because they didn't find and cysts or whatever. THe only thing they saw were a few fibrods, but other than that nothing.

The cysts would have already ruptured if there was fluid. It is qite normal to have cysts every month (small) and they rupture before your period. Many people do not have any symptoms and some have a lot (like me). Good luck.

Haha sharon, I am menopausal so, i don't think it's anything to do with my period. Unless we still the cysts. then, great! i hope that's the only problem

If you are having lots of symptoms, you sohuld really insist on gettting a second opinion bceause you never know if the cysts contain anything "bad"
