help please!!!! - Cancer: Breast Message Board

It all started 2 years ago with bladder problems. After going through lots of tests it came out that they were not sure what was going on but that they thought it was Urethral Syndrome. Also for the last couple of years I have been having what I thought were reaccurent yeast infections. I think I was wrong!!!!
About 3 weeks ago I went to my Gyno. because I had swelling of the vulva,bleeding,red,and my skin was raw. She did a yeast test and it came back neg. She put me on high doses of steroids and to this day it is still not totally better. She tought I had Dermitiis. I talked to my doc. on Fri. and she said to use the steroids a week more and then she will want to do a biopsy. She thinks it could be Cancer of the vulva

So my question is,first off am I posting in the right place (I am new here),secondly has anyone gotten this type of biopsy done and has anyone ever had vulva cancer. Also I forgot to add that I have whit bumps,almost like goose bumps down there and the skin is rough. So, I am thinking that maybe my bladder problems are related because they say it can spread to the urethra.
The only thing is is that all my pap smears have come out fine in the past. I have not had one since last year andlast year I had a catscan done and it was fine. Now the cancer may not have been there yet.
Any help would be great ASAP as I may get this biopsy done tom.!!!

I have been going through the same thing for the last 1 1/2 yrs..I am constantly raw and irritated and nothing helps..I have been to numerous doctors , dermatologist, ect and they all say my skin looks fine..well I went last week to my dermatologist and she finally said my skin looked red so she finally took a biopsy to see what is going on..I am currently pregnant so I haven't even have been able to use any creams except for a&d ointment for ther last 5 months...how old are you? vulvar cancer is very very rare..what other symptoms were you having? did you suffer from severe itching? I have been worried I could have VIN or something..have you ever had hpv virus? do you have any lumps? is the irritation all over or in 1 spot?

thank you for writing to my post!!! To answer your questions, I am 23 years old. As for symptoms, I have real bad itching,reddness,swelling,my skin is rough,and I have little white bumps kind of like goose bumps. Mainly I am complaining about the itching. The dr. put me on a high dosage of steroids and it did not help. She also put me on a annahistamine. What is VIN? I have never heard of it. Also whatis HPV? The irritation is all over the vulva,but mainly right where the outer cheeks open to be quite blunt.
I want to know though,How was the biopsy. Tell me truthfully because I am already scared beyond belief so you will not scare me more. I scheduled it today for Wednesday. It was so funny,when I scheduled it I asked if they could put me to sleep and they laughed at me! I heard you could be... I do not do well with pain so I hope I do good. I am mainly worried about the novicaine because then it will be numb. When will you find out your results?
Please if anyone else is reading this and had any advise or has gone through it,write back so the two of us can get some insight,thanks!!!!

I am 30..you are sooo young to have vulvar cancer..it is something that you see in your 60's or 70's..VIN is like a precancer like dysplasia on your cervix but it's dysplasia on your vulva..basically abnormal cells..the biopsy was not that bad..the needle was the worst part...it stung but then I didn't feel anything..it was worth it because I just want an answer as to why I'm so irritated all the time..I hope for the both of us it's nothing bad..I am scared because I am pregnant..it's weird though because mine also started w/ bladder symptoms..I was getting a kinda burning irritation when I wiped and my lower back hurt and I was peeing all the time..last summer I had thwe bladder ultrasound done, and also a scope to look in my bladder..then I was raw and like you I was told it was yeast so I tried creams and more creams with no relief..it's just so frustrating...let me know how you are doing..I go back on saturday to get my 2 little stiches out.
